Cat Glover, Ex-Prince Choreographer, Singer and Rapper Dies at 60

Catherine “Cat” Glover, the talented choreographer, singer, dancer and rapper known for her iconic work with Prince, has passed away at the age of 60. The announcement was made in a heartfelt statement on her official Facebook page, where her family has asked for privacy as they go through this difficult time. The cause of her death has not yet been revealed.

Glover became known as a vital part of Prince’s artistic vision, making her mark as a choreographer, dancer and performer in the late 1980s. Her contributions were central to Prince’s 1987 breakthrough *Sign O’ the Times* and *Lovesexy* tours of 1988-1989, where she electrified the audience with her dynamic stage presence. Glover’s talents were also showcased at the *Sign O’ the Times* concert and the *Lovesexy Live* broadcast.

As a musician, Glover delivered memorable vocal performances on many of Prince’s works, including a standout rap on the 1988 single “Alphabet St.” from the album *Lovesexy*. Her voice also graced the controversial *Black Album*, originally scheduled for release in 1987 but only made available to the public in 1994.

Throughout her career, Glover has spoken of her deep admiration for Prince’s creative genius. In a 1987 interview with *Video Soul*, she expressed, “I’ve always idolized him, and it’s not a familiar thing, it’s just… he’s great. I don’t think there’s anyone who can be as creative as he can be—dance, play all his instruments.” Glover recalled sitting in the studio, marveling at Prince’s ability to play every instrument and create music entirely on his own, calling him “incredible.”

As fans and her peers remember Glover for her vibrant artistry and her immense contribution to Prince’s legacy, her family and loved ones are expected to release further statements in due course.
