Shawn Turner, 59, of Vallejo, has been recognized by the authorities as the driver who perished in a single-vehicle collision on Saturday night. Around 8:45 p.m., something happened in the 300 block of Avian Drive.

Turner lost control of his 2017 Kia Forte while driving, crashing it into a raised planter box and a curb, according to the Vallejo Police Department.
