On September 10, the father of two sons, Russell, age 11, and Ben Smith, age 9, discovered their bodies at their family home in Faulconbridge, west of Sydney.
The boys’ 42-year-old mother was also discovered at the scene with stab wounds, according to NSW police at the time. She was rushed to the hospital in a serious but stable condition. Since then, two counts of murder have been brought against her.
A memorial service for the two boys was held in Springwood yesterday, where their father Nick Smith farwelled his “beautiful boys” in a pre-recorded eulogy, 9News reports.
“It has been an absolute, absolute privilege to be your father … I will always hold you so dear to my heart,” he said.
Smith finished with a heartfelt message for his sons.
“Russ and Ben I love you so much, I will never stop loving you,” he said.
