LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — Business and community leaders came together to help a nonprofit that works to shape the futures of Louisville kids.
It was a packed house for Junior Achievement’s annual fundraiser at the Marriott in downtown Louisville.
Since 1949, the organization has impacted the lives of more than 1.5 million students, teaching financial literacy.
It was also a special night for a former WDRB employee. David Callan retired as WDRB’s production manager last year after more than 20 years.
WDRB President and General Manager Bill Lamb presented Callan with the JA Volunteer of the Year Award during Thursday’s fundraiser. Callan produced the video segments for the JA Hall of Fame for years.
Other honorees included Ann Wells, former chair and CEO of Commonwealth Bank & Trust, Dr. Dawn and Stacy Wade of NIMBUS, Inc., and local developer Gill Holland.
