It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Salvatore “Sal” Albanese, a distinguished Certified Public Accountant, philanthropist, and devoted family man. Sal passed away unexpectedly on March 24, 2025, at the age of 65. His sudden departure has left a profound void in the lives of his family, friends, colleagues, and the wider community.
Sal’s professional career was marked by excellence and dedication. He began his journey in 1977 with Arthur Young and Company, now known as Ernst & Young. Over the years, his expertise in audit and tax services earned him the trust of high-profile clients, including American Express, NBC, and Mobil Oil. In 1984, he founded Salvatore Albanese & Company LLC, where his firm became renowned for its top-tier financial services. Sal’s work in real estate finance, especially with senior housing, had a lasting impact on the Long Island community.
Beyond his professional achievements, Sal was deeply committed to his community. He gave generously of his time and resources, particularly in support of local youth sports programs. His involvement with St. Dominic High School and various charitable organizations left a lasting legacy of service and mentorship.
Sal is survived by his beloved wife, Maria, and their four daughters: Elena, Julie, Gabrielle, and Melissa. His warmth, wisdom, and support will be greatly missed by all who knew him. His legacy of integrity, kindness, and dedication to his family and community will continue to inspire those who had the privilege of knowing him.
