Law enforcement agencies have identified the woman who died in a rollover crash and high-speed police chase near Gorman on Friday.
26-year-old Anna Zauner was a mother of one, a sister, a daughter, and a resident of Simi Valley. Anna passed away in an accident involving a stolen car. Authorities have identified the driver of a stolen vehicle who died in a severe rollover incident in northern Los Angeles County on Wednesday.
According to investigators, Anna Zauner died after pursuing police for more than an hour in a stolen 2024 Honda CRV at high speeds before losing control and driving into a guardrail and overpass on the 5 Freeway near Gorman.
It is unclear how the automobile was stolen. The chase began at 2 p.m. in the Sylmar neighborhood, with LAPD police pursuing the suspect. During the chase, she wove across lanes and into a construction zone, reaching more than 100 mph speeds. The California Highway Patrol is continuing its investigation into the fatal crash.
