LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — The developer of Origin Park in southern Indiana unveiled plans for a new zip line experience.

Officials said the zip line will be designed to be universally accessible, with adjustable speeds based on the rider’s comfort levels. It’s being designed by the park’s new partner, Experiential Resources (ERi), which specializes in aerial adventure design.

According to our partners at Louisville Business First, it’s set to go over the Whitewater Rapids attraction, which is also being created by ERi.

The park is also planning to include 22 miles of public trails, paddling launch sites, an event center and an Outdoor Adventure Park with climbing walls and restaurants.

River Heritage Conservancy, the nonprofit behind Origin Park, has raised about $64 million for the project so far. More than 80% of the 430 acres it needs for Origin Park has been secured through purchases and agreements, LBF reported, for about $10.5 million.

The park’s initial estimated cost of $250 million will likely change as some areas of the park are redesigned.
