Sophie Turner Shares Awkward Experience Filming with Kit Harington
Sophie Turner recently opened up about her uneasy experience while filming a kissing scene with her “Game of Thrones” co-star, Kit Harington, for their new horror film, “The Dreadful.” The two actors, who portrayed siblings Sansa Stark and Jon Snow on the hit HBO series, found their on-screen chemistry to be a bit strange when the roles shifted to something more intimate.
During an appearance on “Late Night with Seth Meyers,” Turner explained that after she recommended Harington for the movie’s lead role, he responded with concerns about the oddity of the situation. “He said, ‘Yeah, I’d love to, but this is going to be really weird, Soph,’” she recounted. Initially confused, she later realized just how strange it would be after reviewing the script, which included several intimate moments.
Despite their reservations, both actors felt they had to go through with it. Once they started filming the kissing scene, Turner described it as “vile” and noted that they were both “retching” on set. “It was just the worst,” she admitted, capturing the awkward tension between them.
Turner, who began her acting career at the young age of 12, shared fond memories of her time on “Game of Thrones.” She credits the experience as a major learning opportunity, having worked closely with renowned actors like Emilia Clarke and Peter Dinklage. “I felt like I won a competition,” she said, emphasizing the close-knit feel of the cast.
Overall, Turner and Harington have maintained a good friendship since their time together on the show, but the upcoming film certainly presents a unique challenge for the duo. As Turner humorously noted, switching from sibling roles to romantic ones is anything but simple.
