Zuristyo Firmadata Death and Obituary – The Indonesian political community is mourning the loss of Zuristyo Firmadata, a respected politician and dedicated public servant, who passed away on the morning of Friday, August 22, 2025. He was 52 years old. Firmadata died at Medistra Hospital in Jakarta after a prolonged battle with illness, leaving behind a legacy of service, leadership, and commitment to his party and the people he represented.

Born in Bangka Belitung, Zuristyo Firmadata built a career marked by dedication to both local and national politics. He rose to prominence through his tireless efforts in advancing the principles of the NasDem Party and by working to strengthen its presence in his home region. At the time of his death, Firmadata was serving as chairman of the NasDem Party’s regional branch in Bangka Belitung, a role in which he championed grassroots mobilization and organizational growth. His colleagues remembered him as a leader who not only believed in the vision of the party but also worked persistently to make that vision a reality at the regional and national levels.

Firmadata’s contributions were not limited to party leadership. He also served as a member of Indonesia’s House of Representatives (Dewan Perwakilan Rakyat, DPR) during the 2019–2024 legislative term, representing the NasDem Party. In parliament, he focused on policy matters that directly impacted his constituents, always seeking to balance national priorities with the needs of the people of Bangka Belitung. His parliamentary work was widely regarded as thoughtful, practical, and rooted in his deep understanding of the region he represented.

According to a statement made by Fendy Haryono, the head of the NasDem Bangka Belitung branch, the late politician had been “fighting his illness for a long time.” Despite his health challenges, Firmadata continued to be active in political life, demonstrating resilience and dedication to his responsibilities. His passing has left a deep void in the NasDem Party, which has lost not only a regional leader but also a seasoned national legislator who embodied the values of service and perseverance.

The announcement of his death sparked an outpouring of grief from fellow politicians, colleagues, and supporters across the country. Many took to social media to express their condolences, remembering Firmadata not only as a politician but as a man of integrity, humility, and commitment. His ability to connect with people from all walks of life made him a beloved figure in Bangka Belitung and beyond.

Zuristyo Firmadata’s death marks the end of a career devoted to political service, yet his legacy will continue to inspire members of the NasDem Party and young politicians striving to follow in his footsteps. His life story serves as a reminder of the sacrifices and resilience required in public service. As Indonesia reflects on his contributions, he will be remembered with respect and gratitude for his dedication to the nation and his unwavering loyalty to his constituents.
