Authorities in Washington have announced the discovery of what they believe may be the remains of Travis Decker, the man accused of kidnapping and killing his three young daughters earlier this year.
Decker allegedly took the lives of 5-year-old Olivia, 8-year-old Evelyn, and 9-year-old Paityn near Rock Island Campground on June 2, 2025, after failing to return them to their mother following a May 30 visitation.
Remains Discovered Near Campground
Investigators revealed that the remains were found near the same campground where the three girls were discovered. Officials say that clothing and other items found at the scene are consistent with Decker’s belongings.
Due to the advanced state of decomposition, however, authorities emphasize that they cannot confirm with 100% certainty that the remains belong to Decker until forensic testing is complete.
Not the Long Manhunt Initially Feared
When the girls’ deaths were first uncovered, law enforcement believed Decker was on the run and might have been relying on his survivalist skills, given his ex-military background.
