A number of Hollywood stars are leaving Los Angeles for greener pastures, with many heading to states like Tennessee and Idaho. Actress Danica McKellar, best known for her role in “The Wonder Years,” made the move to Tennessee three years ago.
McKellar explained that she and her husband felt that California just wasn’t the right fit for them anymore. They wanted to be closer to her son and desired a more natural environment. Tennessee seemed like the perfect choice.
She’s not alone. Several other actors, including Jason Priestley of “Beverly Hills, 90210” fame, have also made Tennessee their new home. Melissa Joan Hart has been a resident for quite some time. The rise of remote work, accelerated by the events of 2020, has made it easier for those in the entertainment industry to live outside of traditional hubs like Los Angeles.
Other stars have chosen different destinations. Scott Wolf, known for “Party of Five,” is raising his family in Utah. Ali Larter found a welcoming community and simpler way of life in Idaho. Dean Cain now resides in Nevada.
For many, the decision to leave Los Angeles is driven by a desire for a different kind of life – one with more space, more nature, and perhaps a stronger sense of community. While Hollywood may always hold a certain allure, these actors are finding that happiness can be found far beyond the bright lights of Los Angeles.
