    Fatal Crash Claims the Life of Ridgway Firefighter Mason Neureiter

    State Police are investigating a tragic crash that occurred on October 20, 2025, at around 10:30 a.m. on Grant Road in Ridgway, which resulted in the death of Mason Neureiter, a 20-year-old firefighter and dispatcher.

    What Happened

    According to authorities, a vehicle driven by Damian Patterson, 25, from Ridgway, was traveling north when it veered off the east side of the roadway and struck a tree. Patterson, who was not wearing a seatbelt, sustained only minor injuries in the crash. However, his passenger, Mason Neureiter, was wearing his seatbelt but suffered fatal injuries from the impact.

    State Police were assisted at the scene by the Ridgway Ambulance, Ridgway Fire Department, and D & T Towing.

    Mason Neureiter’s Legacy

    Mason Neureiter was a dedicated member of the Ridgway Fire Department and served as a dispatcher for Elk County 911. His selfless service and commitment to his community left an undeniable impact, and his tragic loss is felt deeply by his family, friends, and colleagues.
