    Two Men Arrested in Randolph County for Cattle Rustling Charges

    Two men are facing felony charges after being accused of cattle rustling in Randolph County, North Carolina. The arrests come after an investigation into the theft of cattle from Royal Ridge Road in Ramseur, which were later sold at a stockyard in Chatham County.

    What Happened

    On Friday, deputies were alerted by the Chatham County Sheriff’s Office and the victim about cattle being stolen from Royal Ridge Road in Ramseur. The stolen cattle were sold at a stockyard in Chatham County. Investigators quickly identified 34-year-old Randall Ray Burgess and 44-year-old Zachary Banks Todd as suspects in the case, leading to felony larceny charges.

    Charges and Arrests

    Both men were arrested on Tuesday and taken into custody at the Randolph County Detention Center. Burgess was granted a $20,000 secured bond and has a court appearance scheduled for Wednesday. Todd, in addition to being charged with felony larceny of cattle, was also served a warrant in Chatham County for felony obtain property by false pretense, felony identity theft, and felony possession of stolen goods. Todd was not given a bond due to being out on pre-trial release.
