A former news anchor is in trouble with the law. Angelynn “Angie” Mock, who is 47 years old, has been charged with first-degree murder. This happened after police say she stabbed and killed her 80-year-old mother, Anita Avers.

The police in Wichita, Kansas, got a call about a “cutting” at a house on Friday morning. When they arrived, they found Angie standing outside. Inside the house, they found her mother, Anita, in her bed with several stab wounds.

Anita was quickly taken to a hospital, but she passed away later that morning. Angie was also treated at the hospital for some injuries. After that, she was arrested and taken to jail.

Angie is being held on a $1 million bond. The police are still looking into what happened.

Before this, Angie worked as a news anchor and reporter for Fox 2 in St. Louis. She worked there from 2011 to 2015. After that, she started working in sales. At the time of her arrest, she was working for a company that makes data management software.

It’s not clear why Angie might have done this. We also don’t know when she will appear in court for the first time.
