The Milford community is grappling with the loss of two lives following a tragic head-on collision on State Road 15 in Van Buren Township, Kosciusko County, late Thursday morning. The crash, which occurred around 11:30 a.m., claimed the lives of 68-year-old Dale E. Wert from Goshen and 19-year-old Sarah Mischke from Milford.

At approximately 11:31 a.m. on Thursday, emergency responders were dispatched to the scene of a severe crash on State Road 15, about a quarter mile north of Waubee Road. Upon arrival, law enforcement and first responders found a catastrophic head-on collision between two vehicles: a Chevy Silverado, driven by 68-year-old Dale Wert, and a Hyundai Accent, driven by 19-year-old Sarah Mischke.

The Kosciusko County FACT (Fatal Alcohol Crash Team) Team is leading the investigation into the incident, examining the details surrounding the crash and collecting evidence from the scene.

At this time, the cause of the collision is still under investigation, and authorities are urging anyone with information to come forward.
