Deniece Hubbard Obituary, Death; – Virginia State Police are conducting an investigation into a single-vehicle accident that resulted in the death of a 59-year-old woman from Covington in Craig County on February 7.
According to VSP, at approximately 10:45 a.m. on Friday, a 2002 Chevrolet Trailblazer was heading south on Route 311 with a passenger when the SUV veered off the right side of the roadway. The 64-year-old driver overcorrected, leading to the vehicle overturning.
The passenger, identified as 59-year-old Deniece Hubbard of Covington, was pronounced dead at the scene. Authorities confirmed that she was wearing her seatbelt at the time of the incident. The driver sustained injuries that are not life-threatening and was transported to the hospital for medical attention. He was also reported to be wearing his seatbelt.
Virginia State Police have indicated that the investigation remains active, and charges may be forthcoming. Newschain will provide updates on this story as more information becomes available.
