Allen Anderson Obituary, Death; – A man lost his life following a vehicle collision on I-90 involving a snow plow from the Ohio Department of Transportation on Monday afternoon, as confirmed by the department on Tuesday. The incident took place in Leroy Township shortly after 3 p.m., resulting in significant delays on the eastbound side of the highway for several hours.
According to ODOT, the snow plow operator was engaged in snow removal on the south side berm when a KIA driver reportedly veered off the roadway and collided with the truck from behind, ultimately coming to rest in a grassy median.
The KIA driver, identified by ODOT as 56-year-old Allen Anderson from Cleveland, was initially transported to University Hospitals Tri-Point Medical Center for his injuries but was later transferred to MetroHealth Medical Center, where he succumbed to his injuries.
Authorities have stated that they do not suspect the involvement of alcohol or drugs in the incident. ODOT noted that Anderson was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash. This incident marks the 15th collision involving a state snow plow this season in Ohio, compared to 22 such incidents reported last winter.
