Amin Emad-Eldin Hammoud Obituary, Death; – The Fairfax County Police Department (FCPD) has identified a man who tragically lost his life after being struck by a tractor-trailer in Chantilly on the eve of Christmas Eve. The deceased has been named as 33-year-old Amin Emad-Eldin Hammoud, a resident of Centreville.
According to police, their initial investigation revealed that a 2016 Freightliner Cascadia was being operated in the far-right lane of Sully Road, near Poplar Tree Road, at approximately 6:30 a.m. on December 23.
During this time, the truck veered to the right, crossed the white line, and collided with Hammoud, who was standing outside his disabled vehicle. He succumbed to his injuries at the scene.
The truck driver was subsequently transported to the hospital with injuries that were not life-threatening. At this stage of the investigation, officers from the Fairfax County Police Department have stated that neither speed nor alcohol appears to be contributing factors.
