CHICAGO – An arrest has been made after a 26-year-old woman was fatally shot during a violent dispute last weekend on Chicago’s Far South Side, authorities said.
What we know:
Around 7:28 p.m., a 26-year-old woman was in a verbal altercation with a known offender in the 13200 block of S. Ellis.
The offender pulled out a handgun and fired shots at the victim. She was struck in the chest and transported to the University of Chicago Hospital where she died.
On Wednesday, Chicago police announced an arrest had been made in connection with the deadly shooting.
Diamond Steward, 31, is charged with one felony count of first-degree murder, police said. She was arrested Sept. 1 in the 700 block of E. 111th Street.
