Aurora Alexis Missing – The Edmonton Police Service (EPS) has issued a province-wide Amber Alert after the reported abduction of a two-year-old girl, Aurora Alexis, on Saturday afternoon. Authorities are urgently appealing to the public for assistance in locating the child and ensuring her safe return.

According to investigators, the incident unfolded in the area of 106 Street and 31 Avenue on Edmonton’s south side. At approximately 2:45 p.m., Aurora was allegedly taken by 41-year-old Leonard Willier, who police have identified as the prime suspect. Witnesses told investigators that Willier fled the scene with Aurora in a vehicle described as a white 2018 Toyota Tundra pickup truck. The truck bears Saskatchewan licence plate number 786 JBH.

Police have underscored the seriousness of the case and the potential risk to the child. In their official statement, EPS strongly warned members of the public not to approach Willier if spotted. Instead, they urged anyone with information or sightings to immediately call 911 or notify their local law enforcement agency. “Time is critical in cases like this,” EPS officials stressed. “Public cooperation is essential in bringing Aurora home safely.”

Amber Alerts are reserved for the most urgent child abduction cases in which police believe a child’s life or safety is in imminent danger. Once issued, the alerts are broadcast across multiple platforms, including television, radio, mobile phones, and highway message boards, to rapidly mobilize the public. Authorities emphasized that every tip—no matter how small—could prove vital. Reports of the suspect’s truck, licence plate, or any unusual circumstances involving a child matching Aurora’s description could lead investigators closer to resolving the case.

The Edmonton Police Service has been working closely with partner agencies across Alberta and neighboring provinces to extend the search. Given the truck’s Saskatchewan registration, police believe Willier may attempt to leave the province. Officers have asked motorists, truck drivers, and travelers to remain especially alert along major highways, rural roads, and border crossings.

Aurora’s family has been notified and is receiving support from victim services. Loved ones are said to be devastated and anxiously awaiting updates. Members of the Edmonton community have also expressed shock and concern, with many residents quickly sharing the Amber Alert across social media in an effort to increase awareness and aid in the search.

Authorities are urging all residents to remain attentive to the suspect’s vehicle description: a white 2018 Toyota Tundra pickup truck with Saskatchewan plate 786 JBH. Anyone who spots the truck, the suspect, or the child is reminded not to engage directly but to contact police immediately with as much detail as possible.

In its statement, the EPS reiterated: “We need the public’s help to bring Aurora home. Do not approach the suspect. Call 911 right away if you see anything that matches the descriptions provided.”

As of now, the Amber Alert remains active. Police continue to work around the clock to locate Aurora Alexis and ensure her safe recovery.
