If some Colorado lawmakers get their way, a lot more drivers will be getting tickets instead of warnings for expired plates. The number of drivers with expired license plates has skyrocketed over the last few years, and some state lawmakers are fed up and are cracking down. A multi-vehicle crash just outside the Eisenhower/Johnson tunnels caused officials to temporarily close eastbound traffic along I-70 late Friday morning. A Colorado State Patrol spokesperson said 10 or more vehicles were involved in the crash, which happened around 10:43 a.m. just east of the Eisenhower Tunnel. Information on possible injuries has not yet been released. Several tow trucks moved vehicles from the roadway. Both lanes of traffic reopened at noon. A Colorado man will serve three decades in prison after he murdered a former friend and buried him in the crawl space under a condominium. Haskel Leroy Crawford was sentenced Thursday after pleading guilty to second-degree murder in the 2022 death of Karl Beaman Jr. Beaman’s mother, Kyla Dubberstein, who lives in Arizona, called the Aurora Police Department in 2023 to report her son as missing, telling police she had not heard from him since May 2022.
