The National Football League (NFL) is expanding its global presence with a game in Berlin, Germany.
On Sunday, the Atlanta Falcons will face off against the Indianapolis Colts at 9:30 a.m. ET at the Olympic Stadium in Berlin. The game will be broadcast on NFL Network, with Adam Amin providing play-by-play commentary, Kurt Warner offering game analysis, and Stacey Dales and Kristina Pink reporting from the sidelines.
This matchup marks the sixth international game of the NFL season and the first-ever NFL game to be held in Berlin. This season, the NFL has already hosted games in São Paulo, Dublin and three games in London. The final international game of the season is scheduled for next week, featuring the Washington Commanders against the Miami Dolphins in Madrid.
The Atlanta Falcons head into the Berlin game looking to break a three-game losing streak. Their recent losses were against the San Francisco 49ers, Miami Dolphins, and New England Patriots. In their game against the Patriots, the Falcons nearly tied the score late in the game, but a missed extra point resulted in a 24-23 loss. The team has since released the kicker, Parker Romo.
The Falcons will rely on quarterback Michael Penix Jr. to lead the offense against the Colts. Over seven games, Penix has completed 60.8% of his passes for 1,630 yards, with eight touchdowns and three interceptions. Running back Bijan Robinson has also been a key player, rushing for 595 yards and two touchdowns in eight games.
The Indianapolis Colts, with Daniel Jones at quarterback, have been a notable team this season. Jones, who has previously played for the New York Giants, is currently leading the NFL in passing yards with 2,404. He has completed 69.6% of his passes, throwing 14 touchdowns and six interceptions, along with 90 rushing yards and five touchdowns.
Running back Jonathan Taylor has also been a significant contributor for the Colts, leading the league in rushing yards (895), rushing touchdowns (12), and yards per attempt (5.7).
The Colts are coming off a 27-20 loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers, which ended their four-game winning streak.
