The Missouri State Highway Patrol (MSHP) has confirmed the discovery of the body of 18-year-old Kaniah Jennings, who was reported missing on November 3. Her body was located in rural Pemiscot County on November 14, marking a tragic end to the search that has left her family, friends, and the community in deep mourning.

    Details of the Discovery

Kaniah Jennings was found after a prolonged search that had begun following her disappearance earlier this month. Investigators have indicated that her death is under active investigation, though no direct charges have yet been filed in connection with her disappearance.

Arrests Made in Connection with the Case

Three individuals have been arrested in relation to Jennings’ case, but no one has been formally charged with her death at this stage.

    • Blake Patrick, 18, of East Prairie, Missouri, was arrested on November 4, one day after Jennings went missing. He is currently charged with tampering with a stolen vehicle and felony stealing. Investigators have identified Patrick as a person of interest in the case. Court records indicate a history of abuse by Patrick, including an active order of protection against him. Patrick made his first court appearance via video conference on November 13, 2025, and pleaded not guilty. A bond hearing is scheduled for November 20.
    • Donald Peoples Jr., 38, and Keenan Peoples, 34, have also been arrested. Donald Peoples Jr. is accused of deleting text messages related to the case, while Keenan Peoples is accused of tampering with a DVR security system and attempting to erase digital evidence. Investigators found the mangled DVR at a burn pile on his property. Both brothers have been charged with tampering with physical evidence in a felony prosecution and appeared in court via video conference on November 13. Donald Peoples’ bond hearing is set for November 20, and Keenan Peoples’ counsel status hearing is scheduled for November 17.

    Ongoing Investigation

The Missouri State Highway Patrol is continuing its investigation into the circumstances surrounding Kaniah Jennings’ death. Investigators have expressed the importance of community cooperation and are encouraging anyone with information to come forward.

    Call for Public Assistance

Authorities are urging the public to contact the Missouri State Highway Patrol at 573-840-9500 if they have any information that could assist with the investigation.

    Closing Line:
As the investigation continues, the community mourns the loss of Kaniah Jennings, and her family seeks justice for the young woman whose life was tragically cut short.
