Disney-Pixar’s New Film Elio Set for Home Release
Disney-Pixar’s latest animated movie, Elio, is making its way to home viewing soon. Fans can catch the film digitally starting August 19, with physical copies available on 4K UHD, Blu-ray, and DVD by September 9.
This exciting release promises exclusive bonus features. The digital and Blu-ray versions will include behind-the-scenes featurettes, a gag reel, deleted scenes, and insights into Pixar’s famous Easter eggs. Notably, the 4K UHD version will be released in a special SteelBook edition, showcasing stunning artwork that highlights Elio’s journey and his alien friends.
Elio follows an 11-year-old boy, Elio Solís, who is passionate about science but struggles to fit in with his classmates. His life takes a thrilling turn when he accidentally gets transported to space and befriends quirky aliens, including his best friend, Glordon. Unexpectedly, he finds himself mistaken for Earth’s ambassador, leading to a series of intergalactic adventures.
Prominent voices in the film include Zoe Saldaña, Brad Garrett, Brandon Moon, and Jameela Jamil. Saldaña, who voices Elio’s aunt, shared her personal connection to the film, particularly themes around grief and belonging. She reflects on her own feelings of not fitting in during her youth and the importance of stories that validate children’s emotions.
The film’s synopsis describes Elio as a ‘space fanatic’ on a ‘cosmic misadventure.’ He must confront a major interstellar crisis while discovering his true identity and place in the universe.
With Elio set to become available this summer, it promises to be an engaging film for families, blending adventure with meaningful storytelling.
