In a tragic incident early Saturday morning, a man was fatally shot by his daughter’s boyfriend following an intense argument outside a San Antonio restaurant.
San Antonio Police responded to a call around 12:20 a.m. near the Taco Palenque on Blanco Road, located just off Loop 1604 West. Authorities identified the victim as 45-year-old Christopher Fuentes and the suspected shooter as Franco Xavier Summers, 27.
The conflict reportedly began earlier in the evening when Fuentes, his daughter, and Summers were all together at a nearby bar. Tensions escalated, leading to a heated dispute between Fuentes and Summers.
Seeking to avoid further confrontation, Fuentes’ daughter left the bar with her father, and they walked over to the nearby Taco Palenque restaurant. However, Summers allegedly pursued them, arriving at the restaurant shortly after.
Upon arrival, Summers confronted Fuentes in the parking lot. Witnesses told police that Fuentes approached Summers’ vehicle, and the argument between the two continued to intensify.
According to initial reports, as Fuentes neared the vehicle, Summers allegedly drew a firearm and fired multiple shots, striking Fuentes. Emergency responders pronounced Fuentes dead at the scene, while his daughter was left unharmed but shaken by the incident.
After the shooting, Summers fled the scene in his vehicle. San Antonio Police have initiated a search, appealing to the public for any information that could lead to his capture.
The department is urging anyone with knowledge of Summers’ whereabouts or further details on the incident to contact them. Authorities are investigating the details leading up to the confrontation and whether the events were premeditated or a result of spontaneous anger.
The incident has left the San Antonio community in shock, and police are working with family members to understand any underlying tensions that might have contributed to the dispute. They are also reviewing surveillance footage from the bar and Taco Palenque to piece together the events leading up to the fatal shooting.
As the investigation continues, police remind the public that any tips shared with law enforcement could be instrumental in ensuring Summers is brought in for questioning. The family of Christopher Fuentes has yet to release a statement but is asking for privacy as they grieve their loss.
