Born on March 22, 1964, in Nashville, Tennessee, Chuck was the firstborn son of Robert and Linda Akers. Growing up in the heart of Tennessee, Chuck developed a deep love for the state’s natural beauty, the camaraderie of his community, and the comfort of family. Chuck was raised in a household where family was always the center of attention, and he carried these values throughout his life. He was a student of the world, with a natural curiosity that led him to pursue new interests and embrace each new chapter with enthusiasm. From his earliest years, Chuck was known for his kind heart, his willingness to lend a hand, and his genuine interest in others’ well-being.
Chuck attended Murfreesboro High School, where he was well-liked by his peers and admired for his hardworking nature. Chuck is survived by his children, Jacob and Emily Akers, of Murfreesboro, TN; his parents, Robert and Linda Akers, of Murfreesboro, TN; his siblings, Karen (James) Spencer of Nashville, TN, and John (Laura) Akers of Murfreesboro, TN; his beloved nieces and nephews, including Sarah, Matthew, and Olivia Spencer, and Alex and Lily Akers; and a wide circle of friends who considered him family. He is also survived by his longtime partner, Jennifer Harris, with whom he shared many happy years.
Chuck was predeceased by his beloved grandparents, who were a major influence in his life, and who he dearly missed in recent years. A visitation to honor Chuck’s life will take place on Thursday, January 2, 2025, from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm at the McDonald Funeral Home, located at 1201 Elm St., Murfreesboro, TN. A funeral service will be held on Friday, January 3, 2025, at 10:00 am at the Murfreesboro Church of Christ, followed by a private family burial.
Chuck Akers may have left us too soon, but his memory and the love he shared with those around him will live on forever.
