A teenage girl was in custody Friday night after they say she stabbed and critically injured a young woman near the 69th Street Red Line CTA station, according to Chicago police.
The victim, 20, was involved in a physical altercation with a 17-year-old girl on the sidewalk in the first block of West 69th Street around 6 p.m, when the teen pulled out a sharp object and stabbed the woman twice in her torso, police said.
The woman was taken to UChicago Medicine in critical condition. The teen was arrested and transported to St. Bernard Hospital for a minor injury from the altercation, police said.
Wentworth Area detectives were investigating.
