    It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of David Francis Bonsick, 57, of Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania, who passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 7, 2025, at UPMC-Harrisburg Hospital, surrounded by the love of his family. A respected professional, devoted husband and father, and loyal friend, David’s presence will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

    What Happened

    David Bonsick was born on December 18, 1967, in Scranton, Pennsylvania, to Carol (Bahara) Bonsick and the late Joseph Bonsick. A graduate of Scranton Preparatory School, he went on to earn his bachelor’s degree from Lycoming College in Williamsport, PA. David had a distinguished career, serving as the Government Relations Principal with Cozen O’Connor in Harrisburg. His professionalism, integrity, and dedication to public service earned him the respect and admiration of colleagues and clients alike.

    David’s professional success was matched by his love for family, faith, and community. He was affectionately known as “Dave the Builder” by his loved ones, often found working on home projects, enjoying a round of golf, or cheering on his beloved Penn State Football team. His strength, wisdom, and joy enriched the lives of all who knew him.

    Reactions

    David’s family, friends, and colleagues will always remember him as a devoted family man whose greatest pride was the love he shared with those closest to him. “David was a man of incredible strength and character. His unwavering love for his family, coupled with his generosity and kind-hearted spirit, made him a true role model,” shared his brother, Joseph Bonsick. “He always had a thoughtful word or a helping hand for anyone in need, and his absence will be profoundly felt by everyone who had the privilege of knowing him.”

    David is survived by his loving wife, Mary Walsh; his daughter, Olivia Bonsick; his son, Grayson Bonsick; stepson, Adam Laudenslager; stepdaughter, Anita Laudenslager; his mother, Carol Bonsick; his brother, Joseph Bonsick and his wife Susan; and his nieces, Emily and Anna. His family and friends will remember him for his devotion to them, his generous spirit, and his infectious joy.

    What’s Next

    A viewing will be held on Sunday, September 14, 2025, from 6:00–8:00 p.m. at Myers-Baker Funeral Home, 1903 Market Street, Camp Hill, PA. A second viewing will take place on Monday, September 15, from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m., followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. at Good Shepherd Church, 3435 Trindle Road, Camp Hill. Burial will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Mechanicsburg.
