A shooting in south Toledo on Monday night left one person dead and another injured, prompting an ongoing investigation by the Toledo Police Department.
Authorities responded to a report of gunfire at an apartment complex located on Arlington Avenue shortly after 9:30 p.m.
While en route to the scene, officers stopped a vehicle driving erratically at the intersection of Byrne Road and Hill Avenue.
Inside the vehicle, they discovered a 20-year-old male with a gunshot wound to his arm. The victim was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment and is expected to recover.
Upon arrival at the apartment complex, officers located a second victim, identified as 18-year-old Derrick Rogers, in a nearby parking lot.
Rogers had sustained at least one gunshot wound and was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Police have not made any arrests and reported that there are no suspects at this time.
