Douglas Venable,Amanda Dusek Obituary, Death; – The Lake County Coroner’s Office (LCCO) has identified the two individuals who lost their lives in a shooting incident at a gas station in Merrillville.
The deceased have been named as 45-year-old Douglas Venable and 42-year-old Amanda Dusek, both of whom were discovered with gunshot wounds inside Luke’s Gas Station on Saturday morning.
The Merrillville Police Department responded to reports of gunfire in the 700 block of East Lincoln Highway at approximately 9:45 a.m. Upon their arrival, officers found the two individuals deceased within the premises of Luke’s Gas Station.
Subsequent investigations by MPD detectives revealed that the incident was a murder-suicide, with the victim and the perpetrator having a prior acquaintance. Authorities have stated that this was an isolated event and posed no ongoing threat to the community.
