Eduardo E Portillo Obituary, Death; – A woman suspected of being responsible for the shooting that resulted in the death of an Independence man at an apartment complex in Olathe has been located and apprehended in Kansas City.
According to the Johnson County, Kansas, District Attorney’s Office, Toni M. Tyson, aged 28, has been arrested in relation to the Olathe shooting that claimed the life of 28-year-old Eduardo E. Portillo from Independence in early February.
Court records from the Jackson County, Missouri, Circuit Court, filed on Wednesday, February 19, indicate that Tyson was discovered in Kansas City and subsequently arrested. A judge in Missouri has mandated her extradition to Johnson County, Kansas, where she will face a single charge of homicide.
Investigators stated that Portillo was transported to a nearby hospital, where he was pronounced dead due to his injuries. As of Thursday afternoon, Tyson remains in custody in Jackson County without bond as she awaits her transfer back to Kansas. No additional information has been disclosed.
