Frances Cline Novak Obituary, Death; – The Lake County Sheriff’s Office has confirmed the identity of the Clearlake Oaks woman who lost her life in a collision with a semi-truck on Christmas Eve. Frances Cline Novak, aged 76, was the victim of the incident, as reported by sheriff’s spokesperson Lauren Berlinn.
According to the California Highway Patrol’s Clear Lake Area office, Novak was driving a 2000 Lexus RX3 on state Route 53, south of state Route 20 near Clearlake Oaks, when she executed a U-turn from the southbound shoulder in front of a 2015 Peterbilt truck tractor operated by 57-year-old Javier Gomez Jimenez from Williams.
Consequently, Novak’s Lexus was struck broadside by the semi-truck, resulting in her death at the scene due to her injuries, as stated by the CHP. Gomez Jimenez sustained no injuries.
The investigation into the crash is ongoing.
