Nationwide Recall: Member’s Mark Freeze Dried Fruit Variety Pack

In a recent announcement, the concern for consumer safety has prompted Doehler Dry Ingredient Solutions, LLC to issue a voluntary recall of its Member’s Mark “Freeze Dried Fruit Variety Pack.” The recall follows the detection of Listeria monocytogenes, a bacterium known to cause serious health issues, during internal quality testing.

This recall affects products distributed to Sam’s Club stores across more than 40 states between July 1 and July 25, 2025, as reported by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA). Thankfully, as of now, there have been no reported illnesses related to this issue.

    Understanding the Risk

Listeria monocytogenes is the pathogen responsible for listeriosis, a potentially severe foodborne illness. While healthy adults may experience only mild symptoms like fever and gastrointestinal discomfort, the bacterium can be particularly dangerous for vulnerable populations such as young children, the elderly, pregnant women, and those with weakened immune systems.

Health organizations, including the FDA and the USDA, emphasize the importance of robust recall systems to ensure public safety and maintain consumer confidence. This underscores the need for routine testing to protect the food supply chain and consumers.

    Product Details

The recalled variety pack, which consists of 15-count boxes, has the UPC code 1 93968 50900 2. The lot numbers affected range from 25175 to 25206, and these items have “use by” dates between June 24, 2027, and July 25, 2027. Each product is safely sealed in foil pouches and packaged within a corrugated box; crucial information such as lot numbers and expiration dates can be found printed on the underside of the box.

    Final Thoughts

This situation highlights the importance of vigilance in food safety. It serves as a reminder for consumers to stay informed about product recalls and to remain cautious when making dietary choices. As individuals, we must prioritize our health and that of our families, and retailers play a crucial role in ensuring the safety of the food they provide.

In an age where food safety is paramount, proactive measures like recalls can significantly mitigate risks, and companies must be transparent in their dealings. Keeping an eye on public health should always be our top priority.
