Gloria Estefan to Narrate Sonia Sotomayor’s Children’s Book

Gloria Estefan, the renowned singer, is set to lend her voice to the audiobook of Sonia Sotomayor’s upcoming children’s book, Just Shine! How to Be a Better You. This exciting project will be available in both English and Spanish editions.

Sotomayor, an Associate Justice of the Supreme Court, was inspired to write this book by her late mother, Celina Báez. The story revolves around a young girl from Puerto Rico, who discovers her unique ability to help those around her shine. It aims to encourage children to recognize their inner light and the light within others.

In a statement, Sotomayor expressed gratitude towards her mother, crediting her for instilling values of kindness and respect. “I hope the children who read my book will enjoy learning about the simple ways we can help our friends shine and make the world a better place,” she said.

The book reinforces the idea that generosity and support can have a lasting impact, resonating with readers of all ages. It builds on Sotomayor’s previous works that also emphasize empathy and community, such as Just Help! How to Build a Better World.

Just Shine! How to Be a Better You is scheduled for release on September 9. It is now available for pre-order from various retailers, offering families the chance to share its uplifting message.
