Greg Tabor, a beloved farmer, community leader, and dedicated family man from Scottsville, Kentucky, passed away peacefully on August 2, 2025, at the UK Chandler Hospital in Lexington, Kentucky. He was 64 years old and had been battling complications following a double lung and kidney transplant.

    What Happened

His passing has left the community grieving the loss of a man who was deeply committed to his faith, family, and the service of others.

    Who Was Greg Tabor?

Born in 1959, Greg Tabor was a lifelong resident of Scottsville, Kentucky. Raised on the Tabor family farm, he developed a love for farming and rural life from an early age. Greg’s work extended beyond farming; he was also a dedicated public servant and active member of several local organizations.

    Background or Timeline

Greg’s passion for farming was apparent from a young age, growing up alongside his father on the farm. Over the years, he became a key figure in the local agriculture scene, known for his dedication to sustainable farming and his work as a Master Conservationist. Greg was recognized with numerous honors, including the Kentucky Colonel award and recognition for his service as a founding member of the Halifax Volunteer Fire Department.

Greg’s personal life was deeply influenced by his love for mules, which began when he was just three years old. He began showing mules at the Tennessee State Fair and continued this passion across seven states with his wife and father. His involvement in mule shows brought him joy and allowed him to share his love of these animals with others.

A devout Christian, Greg’s faith was central to his life. He was saved as a young boy and was a dedicated member of Liberty Missionary Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon. His faith was a guiding influence in both his personal and professional life, and it shaped his relationships with others in the community.
