Louisiana State Police Troop C has announced an arrest warrant for 24-year-old Kyren Lacy of Thibodaux, LA, following a tragic crash that claimed the life of 78-year-old Herman Hall. The crash occurred on December 17, 2024, on Louisiana Highway 20 near Perez Lane.
Details of the Incident
The investigation revealed that Lacy, driving a 2023 Dodge Charger, was traveling southbound on LA Highway 20 when he recklessly passed multiple vehicles at a high rate of speed. Lacy crossed the centerline into the northbound lane in a designated no-passing zone, creating a dangerous situation for oncoming traffic.
A northbound pickup truck driver, attempting to avoid a head-on collision, braked abruptly and swerved to the right. Meanwhile, the driver of a following 2017 Kia Cadenza swerved left to avoid the Dodge Charger, crossing the centerline and colliding head-on with a southbound 2017 Kia Sorento.
Herman Hall, a passenger in the Kia Sorento, sustained severe injuries and was transported to a hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries. Despite the crash’s severity, Lacy fled the scene, continuing southbound on LA Highway 20 without stopping to render aid, contact emergency services, or report the incident.
