Isaac Ordonez Discusses Growth and Character Development in Wednesday Season 2

Actor Isaac Ordonez, known for his role as Pugsley Addams in Netflix’s hit series Wednesday, recently shared insights into his character’s journey and his personal growth spurt between the first and second seasons. At a premiere event in London, Ordonez, now 16, humorously noted that he has grown taller than his co-star Jenna Ortega, who plays his sister, Wednesday. “I was the same height as Jenna in season one, but now I’m hovering over her,” he laughed.

In the upcoming season, which premieres on August 6, Pugsley is no longer a sidelined character but instead joins his sister at Nevermore Academy. Ordonez expressed excitement about this change, calling it “a big promotion” in terms of his role. “I have more room to grow and explore this character,” he said, highlighting the increased depth and energy Pugsley will showcase.

Ordonez teased that this season will reveal Pugsley having powers and making both friends and questionable connections in his new school environment. He emphasized how much he enjoyed working alongside Ortega, describing her as “wonderful” and noting that watching her perform taught him a lot.

In this season, viewers can expect to see not just Pugsley’s emotional side but also a mischievous new dimension to his character. The dynamic between the siblings is expected to develop further, offering more engaging scenes and interactions.

Catherine Zeta-Jones, who plays Morticia Addams, also shared her thoughts, focusing on the importance of portraying a grounded and relatable version of the iconic matriarch. She reflected on the struggles of motherhood but pointed out the unique dynamics in her character’s relationship with Wednesday.

As for Wednesday, she faces new challenges and perceptions of being the savior of Nevermore, coupled with her ability to foresee dark futures. The first four episodes of Wednesday Season 2 will be available for streaming on Netflix starting August 6, with an additional four episodes to follow on September 3. Fans eagerly await the return of this beloved series, ready to dive back into the intriguing world of the Addams family.
