Jo Jo Dullard Death, Obituary – A man has been arrested in connection with the long-unsolved case of Josephine “Jo Jo” Dullard, who disappeared nearly 30 years ago. The 21-year-old went missing on November 9, 1995, after attending a night out in Dublin. On the 29th anniversary of her disappearance, Gardaí confirmed the arrest of a man, aged in his 50s, on suspicion of her murder.
The man is currently being held under the provisions of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984, in Co. Kildare, as authorities continue to investigate the case. Jo Jo Dullard’s disappearance has long been one of Ireland’s most baffling mysteries. After missing her last bus home to Kilkenny, she boarded a bus to Naas, Co Kildare, with plans to hitchhike the rest of the journey.
She was last seen at approximately 11:15 pm after accepting a ride from a motorist near Kilcullen. Dullard then called her friend Mary Cullinan from a phone box in Moone at 11:37 pm, telling her that another car had stopped and that she planned to accept the lift. That was the last communication anyone had with her, and she has not been heard from since.
In November 2020, the investigation into Dullard’s case was officially upgraded to a murder inquiry, as Gardaí continued to pursue leads in the hope of uncovering the truth behind her disappearance. Over the weekend, Gardaí made a renewed appeal for information regarding the case, urging anyone with relevant details to come forward.
The arrest marks a significant development in a case that has haunted the local community for nearly three decades, and many hope it may finally bring some closure to Jo Jo Dullard’s family and friends.
