John Byron Kingkade,Krystal Rabon Kingkade Arrested; – A 21-year-old man is currently in custody following an alleged stabbing of a minor during a party in Freeport on Saturday evening.
The Walton County Sheriff’s Office reported that they received a 911 call shortly before 10 p.m. from a friend of the victim, who was en route to the hospital. The caller informed deputies that their friend had been stabbed at a gathering at a residence located off Portland Park Road.
Deputies met the caller and the victim at Grady Brown Park, where Walton County Fire Rescue arrived and subsequently transported the victim, who sustained stab wounds to the head and neck.
Authorities indicated that they received several calls concerning the incident at 187 Portland Park Road. Upon their arrival, deputies conducted interviews with multiple witnesses and examined video footage. All witnesses identified the suspect as 21-year-old John Byron Kingkade, who was seen stabbing the victim multiple times with a knife.
Kingkade has been charged with aggravated battery and aggravated child abuse. He has been assigned a bond of $500,000 and remains in custody at this time.
Additionally, Kingkade’s mother, 41-year-old Krystal Rabon Kingkade, was arrested in connection with the incident. She faces charges of tampering with evidence after allegedly instructing witnesses to delete cell phone footage of the event. She was released on a $15,000 bond on Sunday afternoon.
Officials have not disclosed the condition of the victim.
