She worked as a bartender and waitress at Outback Steakhouse in Danville, Virginia, where she was well-loved by coworkers and patrons alike for her warm smile and friendly spirit. Described as her father’s “Pumpkin” and her mother’s “Sunshine,” Kayla brought light into the lives of those around her. She is survived by her parents, Randy Taylor Snody and Jennifer Slaughter Snody, and a large family that includes her siblings, grandparents, great-grandmother, and many extended relatives.

A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, April 15, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. at Boone & Cooke Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at Goodwill Baptist Church Cemetery in Ridgeway, Virginia. The family will receive friends at the funeral home two hours prior to the service, from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m.
