Kelli Whisonant Roper Obituary, Death; – A woman who perished in a fire that engulfed her townhome in Pinson earlier this week has been identified. Kelli Whisonant Roper, 51, lost her life on Tuesday shortly after being rescued from the flames by Center Point Fire and Rescue personnel at her residence on Heritage Place, as reported by the Jefferson County Coroner’s Office.
Battalion Chief Chris Horn stated that firefighters arrived at the scene just before 3 p.m. to encounter significant fire and smoke emanating from the building. The firefighters commenced efforts to extinguish the flames and conducted an initial search of the premises. They retrieved the victim from the home and initiated medical treatment; however, she was pronounced dead at the scene at 3:36 p.m.
Horn indicated that Roper was alone in the house when the fire broke out. The cause of the fire remains undetermined, and the investigation is being conducted by the Alabama State Fire Marshals Office.
