Actress Sally Kirkland, known for her roles in “The Sting” and her award-winning performance in “Anna,” has passed away at the age of 84. Her manager shared that she loved acting deeply and continued to work, evolving into a memorable character actress. Her final film, “Sallywood,” is set to be released later this month.
Kirkland’s representative, Michael Greene, confirmed she died Tuesday morning in a Palm Springs hospice. Last year, friends organized a GoFundMe to assist with her medical expenses after she suffered injuries from a fall.
Kirkland received an Oscar nomination and a Golden Globe Award for her role in “Anna.” She was married twice, to musician Michael Jarrett and jazz producer Mark Hebert, with both marriages ending in divorce.
Throughout her career, Kirkland appeared in numerous films and TV shows, including “The Way We Were,” “JFK,” “Charlie’s Angels,” and “Criminal Minds.”
