Born in Tustin, California, Lance moved to Laguna Beach as a young man, where he would later graduate from Laguna Beach High. His pursuit of knowledge and creativity led him to study Fine Arts at UC Berkeley, where his passion for the arts flourished. Despite his creative inclinations, it was in coaching, mentoring, and guiding young people that Lance truly found his calling.
For years, Lance was a trusted figure in the Laguna Beach community, selflessly giving his time as a coach and mentor to local children. His kindness, patience, and dedication made him a beloved figure among parents, children, and colleagues alike.
Known affectionately as “Coach,” Lance helped countless young athletes achieve their potential, teaching them not only the skills of their sport but the values of teamwork, resilience, and respect.
In addition to his work with children, Lance had a successful career as a Realtor at Berkshire Hathaway at Prudential. His ability to connect with people, combined with his in-depth knowledge of the local market, made him a respected professional in his field.
Despite his professional success, Lance remained grounded in his love for the Laguna Beach community and his commitment to making it a better place for everyone.
Sadly, Lance’s health took a sudden and unexpected turn, leading to a long hospital stay. Despite the challenges he faced, he remained an inspiration to those around him. Lance passed away at the age of 61, surrounded by his loved ones. In a final act of selflessness, Lance donated his organs, giving the gift of life to another person.

The Stewart family, including Lance’s wife, Deanna Holt Stewart, has been overwhelmed by the outpouring of love and support from the community.
