Authorities in California are investigating a disturbing incident where a man was seen stabbing a pit bull that was allegedly trying to protect its owner.
The attack occurred near a middle school in Long Beach on Saturday, August 2, after police received calls about a stabbing incident.
Video footage shows the suspect, who has not been identified yet, approaching two men, one of whom appears to be the dog’s owner, while holding a knife. As the suspect lifts the knife, the pit bull bravely charges at him, seemingly trying to protect its owner.
In this shocking video, the attacker begins to stab the pit bull multiple times. The dog fights back, barking and attempting to bite the assailant until the two men step in to help.
Officers who arrived at the scene provided immediate assistance to the dog before taking it to a local hospital for treatment.
