Ghislaine Maxwell Questions Epstein’s Death
Ghislaine Maxwell, a close associate of the late Jeffrey Epstein, has recently stated that she does not believe he died by suicide in 2019. This assertion emerged from over 300 pages of transcripts and audio recordings of her conversations with Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche, released on August 22.
Maxwell, who was convicted on child sex trafficking charges and is currently serving a 20-year prison sentence, spoke with Blanche about Epstein’s alleged crimes and his death in a New York jail. Official reports stated that Epstein died by suicide, but Maxwell expressed doubts about that conclusion. She suggested that his death could have been the result of an “internal situation” in prison.
Maxwell commented on the prison environment, suggesting that hitting someone could be arranged for as little as $25. She noted that it was possible for someone outside of the prison to want Epstein harmed, but she did not personally see that happening.
She also added that if someone wanted Epstein dead, they likely would have had many chances to do so when he wasn’t incarcerated. Maxwell dismissed theories that suggest he was killed to silence him.
The released transcripts come as Maxwell seeks a pardon from former President Donald Trump, mentioning that she saw him in social settings with Epstein but never in any inappropriate contexts.
Maxwell was recently moved to a minimum-security prison camp in Texas, where she joins other notable inmates. The ongoing scrutiny of Epstein’s case continues, with claims regarding a supposed client list still lingering. However, the Department of Justice later stated that no such list existed.
Epstein had a controversial past, having previously served time for soliciting underage prostitutes and facing numerous charges before his death. His passing has raised many questions, with some, including his brother, believing that he was murdered rather than having died by suicide.
