Nick Gioia New Fairfield CT Death and Obituary – The New Fairfield community, along with professionals across the global technology landscape, is mourning the sudden and heartbreaking loss of Nick Gioia, a respected AWS FSxN Sales Specialist for Global Financial Services at NetApp. Nick passed away on December 6, 2025, leaving behind a legacy defined by ambition, integrity, and an unwavering commitment to excellence in every aspect of his life.

Born and raised in New Fairfield, Connecticut, Nick grew up with a competitive spirit and a drive that consistently set him apart. He graduated from New Fairfield High School in 2010, where he was highly regarded as a dual-sport varsity athlete. At 6’1’’ and 170 pounds, Nick excelled as a wide receiver and cornerback, proudly wearing #82 on the New Fairfield Varsity Football Team. On the lacrosse field, he showcased equal talent and discipline as #37 for the New Fairfield Varsity Lacrosse Team. Coaches and teammates remember him as hardworking, focused, and determined—an athlete who not only pushed himself to improve but also elevated the performance of those around him.

Nick carried this determination into his academic and professional career. He earned his Bachelor of Science in General Business with a concentration in Marketing from West Virginia University, where his passion for leadership, strategic growth, and personal development continued to flourish. He often described himself as self-motivated and goal-oriented, someone who believed in maximizing every opportunity. Those who knew him say he embodied those principles wholeheartedly.

In the professional world, Nick quickly stood out at NetApp, a global leader in cloud and data services. As an AWS FSxN Sales Specialist supporting financial services organizations, he played a vital role in guiding clients through complex cloud modernization, high-performance storage integrations, and AWS-native workflows. Colleagues admired his technical understanding, his collaborative approach, and his ability to build trust with both clients and internal partners. Nick was known for pairing professionalism with humility, making him not only a valued contributor but also a deeply respected member of the NetApp community.

Outside of his career achievements, Nick was cherished for his character. Friends describe him as loyal, thoughtful, and consistently supportive, someone who was always present for the people he cared about. His competitive nature was balanced by warmth, humor, and compassion. Whether catching up with an old teammate, elevating a co-worker’s morale, or offering guidance to someone pursuing a new challenge, Nick interacted with intention and authenticity.

His sudden passing has left family, friends, colleagues, and the New Fairfield community devastated. Many reflect on his remarkable blend of confidence and humility, his genuine kindness, and the drive that fueled both his professional success and personal relationships. Though his life ended far too soon, the impact he made continues to be felt in the lives he touched.

Nick is survived by loving family members and countless friends who will continue to carry forward the values he embodied. His legacy lives on through every teammate he inspired, every colleague he supported, and every life he influenced through his dedication, perseverance, and belief in striving for greatness.
