LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — The Sherman Minton Bridge Renewal Project may be over, but transportation officials are warning drivers of some upcoming “minor work” that will require nightly lane restrictions.
The overnight work is scheduled to start Monday, April 7, weather permitting.
The Indiana Department of Transportation provided the following schedule of nightly lane restrictions:
- Two right lanes restricted on I-64 westbound Monday, April 7, at 10 p.m. until Tuesday, April 8, at 6 a.m.
- Two left lanes restricted on I-64 eastbound Monday, April 7, at 9 p.m. until Tuesday, April 8, at 5 a.m.
- Left lane restricted on I-64 westbound Tuesday, April 8, at 10 p.m. until Wednesday, April 9, at 6 a.m.
- Two left lanes restricted on I-64 eastbound Tuesday, April 8, at 9 p.m. until Wednesday, April 9, at 5 a.m.
- Two left lanes restricted on I-64 eastbound Wednesday, April 9, at 9 p.m. until Thursday, April 10, at 5 a.m.
- Right lane restricted on I-64 eastbound Thursday, April 10, at 9 p.m. until Friday, April 11, at 5 a.m. Access to I-64 eastbound from Spring Street in New Albany will be closed during this time.
Drivers are being encouraged to slow down and be aware of any changing traffic patterns, and use alternate routes when possible as delays are anticipated.
INDOT said the work is expected to be done by 5 a.m. Friday, April 11, and “will not impact Thunder Over Louisville events.”
