Octavian Estrada Obituary, Death; – The individual who was tragically shot and killed outside a Valero gas station located on the far South side has been named. On Monday, the Medical Examiner’s Office confirmed the identity of the victim as 39-year-old Octavian Estrada, who died from a gunshot wound to the chest at the Valero station situated at the intersection of US Highway 181 and Loop 1604.
On March 10, the Bexar County Sheriff’s Office (BCSO) identified 34-year-old Sean Anthony Samaniego as a possible suspect in the incident. According to BCSO, surveillance footage recorded the victim arriving at the gas station in a white sedan before he approached Samaniego’s dark blue Chevrolet truck.
Following the shooting, Samaniego allegedly fled the scene and detached a trailer from his truck in an effort to alter its appearance. The trailer was subsequently located by deputies and was determined to be the same one associated with the shooting incident.
Deputies claim that Samaniego informed law enforcement that a passenger in his vehicle was responsible for the gunfire, and he has not cooperated with the investigation. After a warrant was issued, Samaniego was apprehended on charges of evidence tampering. The investigation remains ongoing.
