Paul Brouthers Obituary, Death; – A 17-year-old has been confirmed as the victim of a deadly shooting that occurred in a Summerville neighborhood on Tuesday night, as reported by the Dorchester County Coroner’s Office.
Residents of The Ponds subdivision discovered the teenager lying in the street on Oak View Way after hearing gunfire. Dorchester County deputies arrived at the location at approximately 8:20 p.m., according to the Dorchester County Sheriff’s Office.
The victim was pronounced dead by Dorchester County Coroner Paul Brouthers at 10:45 p.m. A representative from the Dorchester County Sheriff’s Office indicated that the Criminal Investigative Division is actively following multiple leads in connection with the shooting.
Authorities have stated that there is no ongoing threat to the local community; however, they intend to enhance patrols in the vicinity. An autopsy for the victim is scheduled to take place at the Medical University of South Carolina on Thursday at 10 a.m. Both the Dorchester County Sheriff’s Office and the Dorchester County Coroner’s Office are conducting an investigation.
