A tragic plane crash occurred yesterday afternoon in far north Fort Worth, leaving two individuals dead and several tractor trailers damaged. The incident was reported near the 12000 block of Saginaw Boulevard, and the Fort Worth Fire Department (FWFD) quickly responded to the scene.

    What Happened

At approximately 2:30 p.m., the Fort Worth Fire Department Alarm Office began receiving multiple reports of a plane crash in the area. Fire crews arrived on scene in under five minutes, where they found several tractor trailers engulfed in heavy flames. The crash involved a Beechcraft King Air C90 aircraft that had recently departed from Alliance Airport. Fortunately, no one on the ground was injured.

The fire spread quickly, affecting at least ten tractor trailers, which then triggered grass fires. The fire was brought under control within 35 minutes, thanks to the swift actions of fire crews. A total of 60 personnel responded, including 10 fire trucks, 14 support vehicles, and three ambulances.

    Efforts to Contain the Fire

Firefighters worked diligently to contain the blaze and secure the area. After the fire was under control, the Fort Worth Fire Department transferred command of the scene to Tarrant County Fire, as the crash site was determined to be just outside the Fort Worth city limits, in Tarrant County.

    Casualties and Investigation

Unfortunately, two individuals were pronounced dead at the scene. The cause of the crash remains under investigation. The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) are both involved in determining what led to the crash.

    Response and Support

Several fire departments from surrounding areas assisted in the response, including:

    • Tarrant County Fire Marshal’s Office
    • Tarrant County Fire Department
    • Haslet Fire Rescue
    • City of Lake Worth Fire Department
    • Saginaw Texas Fire Department
    • Newark Volunteer Fire Department
    • Eagle Mountain Fire Department – Texas
    • City of Blue Mound Fire Department

Other responding agencies include the Tarrant County Sheriff’s Office, the FAA, and the NTSB.

    Fort Worth Fire Department’s Statement

The Fort Worth Fire Department has extended their deepest condolences to the families and loved ones of the victims. While the investigation continues, the efforts of the first responders and supporting agencies are being praised for their swift actions in the face of this devastating incident.
